SINCE I STARTED THIS JOURNEY AT FIVE YEARS OLD, IT WAS ALWAYS MY GOAL TO BE IN FORMULA 1 SO IT’S A PROUD MOMENT TO TAKE THIS STEP.
The sole rookie on the 2026 grid, Arvid Lindblad is the latest Red Bull protégé to get his shot at the F1 bigtime following the rapid promotion of his Racing Bulls predecessor Isack Hadjar.
British teenager Lindblad (the name, like his father, is Swedish) has made plenty of waves in the junior ranks in recent seasons, becoming the youngest ever race winner in both Formula 3 and Formula 2, aged just 16 and 17 respectively.
That followed success in national and international karting, including winning the prestigious WSK Euro Series – joining the likes of Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli – in 2021, his first full year of competition as part of Red Bull’s junior programme.
And after impressing the likes of Laurent Mekies and Helmut Marko in Testing of Previous Car (TPC) runs with Red Bull in 2025 – as well as two FP1 appearances for the team – Lindblad has now been given his chance to race in the top echelon.
