A wide open fight for victory and Ferrari’s fightback – What To Watch For in the Canadian Grand Prix


The weather has played a central role so far this weekend but few would have predicted the make up of the grid even after the lack of dry running practice. It’s a wide open race with George Russell on pole, and the likes of the Ferrari duo and Sergio Perez looking to battle through the field in Montreal. Chris Medland is at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and has picked out five things to watch out for on race day…
1. Mercedes looking for first win since 2022
George Russell took his first career victory in Brazil back in 2022, and at the time probably felt a second would not be far away. It appeared that Mercedes were making progress after a tough start to the new regulations, but last year was a setback as the team went winless for the first time since 2011.
