F2: Maini takes lights-to-flag Sprint Race victory in Monaco

Kush Maini converted reverse grid pole position into victory for DAMS Lucas Oil in Monaco having held off fellow Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Minì throughout.

Despite almost race-long pressure from the Italian behind, Maini was able to stay ahead without any mistakes and eventually finished two seconds clear of the chasing pack.

PREMA Racing’s Minì earned his best F2 result of the season with second place and helped the team to some extra points in the final laps.

After an opening lap skirmish between Campos Racing’s Arvid Lindblad and DAMS’ Jak Crawford left the former with a 10-second time penalty, Minì’s defensive driving kept the Red Bull Junior Team driver at bay in the closing stages.

Lindblad crossed the line in third, but despite his best efforts to build a gap to those behind, he dropped to eighth in the final order, behind PREMA’s Sebastián Montoya.

Luke Browning made it three podiums in a row as a result, inheriting third-place for Hitech TGR to continue his strong start to the 2025 campaign despite having got a poor start from the front-row.

Crawford wound up fourth ahead of MP Motorsport driver Richard Verschoor in P5, while Montoya, Invicta Racing’s Leonardo Fornaroli and Lindblad completed the points in sixth, seventh and eighth.
