Hamilton reprimanded after qualifying infraction
Lewis Hamilton has been reprimanded by the Bahrain stewards after reversing his car in the pit lane at the end of Saturday's qualifying session.
The incident breached of Article 28.3 of the FIA's sporting regulations, which states that "at no time may a car be reversed in the pit lane under its own power".
After hearing accounts from Hamilton and a Mercedes team representative, officials decided not to impose a penalty "due to the fact that no clear instruction was given to the driver on where he should park the car after qualifying".
The incident came after the world champion had clinched his 51st career pole with the fastest ever lap of the Bahrain International Circuit.
