PADDOCK PASS: All the reaction from the drivers after a thrilling race at Silverstone
Lewis Hamilton looked on course for a straightforward run to his seventh British Grand Prix win. That was until midway around Lap 52 of 52, when the front-left tyre of his Mercedes W11 let go.
Hamilton ultimately held on to take that win – the 87th of his career – ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, but team mate Valtteri Bottas was less lucky, with his own tyre problems dropping him to P11 at the flag, while Carlos Sainz lost out on fourth place when he suffered the same issue on the last lap, as he fell to P13.
