Yes, McLaren were one of the stand-out performers of last season. And even if rivals Ferrari came on song towards the season end and ultimately grabbed P3 in the constructors’, what the Scuderia didn’t achieve in 2021 was a victory.
That was something McLaren could boast after Daniel Ricciardo led home Lando Norris for that famous one-two in Monza – and McLaren’s first win since 2012.
