TECH WEEKLY: The intriguing Ferrari SF-24 design detail that broke cover in the Middle East


A potentially very significant detail of the Ferrari SF-24 was revealed in the opening two races: that of its rear suspension, the two upper arms in particular.
As can be seen in the Giorgio Piola drawings below, these are not the common wishbone arrangement whereby the forward and aft arms converge into a single mounting point on the upright to which the wheel is attached. Rather, they are two separate arms, each with their own outboard mounting point, technically making this a multi-link suspension rather than a wishbone.
