WATCH: Ride onboard as Sainz dazzles under the Singapore lights with the fastest FP2 lap
Fresh from his pole position at Monza, Carlos Sainz was once again the man with the one-lap pace plan in Free Practice 2 for the Singapore Grand Prix, as the Spaniard headed the timesheets under the lights.
Sainz stopped the clocks with a 1m 32.120s around the re-configured Marina Bay Street Circuit on Friday evening, with team mate Charles Leclerc backing up Ferrari’s pace by lapping just 0.018s slower than Sainz in P2.
In a session where neither Red Bull driver could get within six-tenths of Ferrari’s pace – Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen taking P7 and P8 respectively – it will have those in the Scuderia camp hoping they can carry that pace into Saturday’s qualifying.
Enjoy Sainz’s super Singapore lap in the video above.
