WATCH: Sainz slides into the barriers to bring out red flags during qualifying in Singapore

The Ferrari driver was thankfully uninjured, climbing out of the car after spinning into the wall backwards.

Sainz appeared to slow down to prepare for his flying lap, letting Oscar Piastri past before he sped up, before losing the rear and making a significant dent in the barriers.
He seemed confused by exactly what happened as he said over the radio: “I don’t know if it was cold tyres, dirty air or I was… big snap.”
As a result, Max Verstappen’s quick lap was deleted after he crossed the line under the yellow flags brought out for Sainz’s crash.
