
Why I’m delighted the Portuguese Grand Prix is back on the calendar

I always liked the Portuguese Grand Prix, in the days when it was run at Estoril. I thought that was a pretty cool track with a great ambiance about the place – though it wasn’t quite so cool when I saw a snake in the paddock.
It was not far from the press room – perhaps it thought it was part of the group my pal Perry McCarthy likes to call ‘reptiles’ – but it was clearly far more frightened of us, and eventually slithered off somewhere.
