F1 ACADEMY: Pulling promoted to Saudi Arabia win after trio of penalties in Race 2

Abbi Pulling was promoted to victory in Race 2 of the Jeddah round of F1 ACADEMY, after Doriane Pin was handed a post-race 20-second penalty.
Pin received a drive-through penalty in Saudi Arabia for crossing the chequered flag twice and completing two laps at full speed until the red flag was shown. As the penalty could not be served in-race, it was converted into a 20-second penalty added to her elapsed race time, dropping her to ninth in the classification.

Elsewhere in the field, Amna Al Qubaisi was issued a five-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining a lasting advantage. The stewards found that the Visa Cash App RB driver had exceeded track limits at Turn 22 while trying to overtake Aurelia Nobels and cut the inside of Turn 23 to complete a move.
Lola Lovinfosse was also handed a five-place grid penalty for the next race she participates in after the Charlotte Tilbury driver was found to have been wholly responsible for causing a collision with Lia Block at Turn 1.
As a result of Pin’s penalty, Alpine's Abbi Pulling was promoted to the race victory, with Ferrari's Maya Weug in second and Tommy Hilfiger driver Nerea Marti elevated to the podium.
Jessica Edgar was classified in fifth ahead of Hamda Al Qubaisi, Bianca Bustamante and Carrie Schreiner. Amna Al Qubaisi dropped to P8 ahead of Pin, while Chloe Chambers completed the point scorers.
The 2024 F1 Academy field will be back in action for Round 2 in Miami from May 3-5.
