Horner awarded CBE in New Year Honours List for services to motorsport

Red Bull Racing team boss and CEO Christian Horner has been awarded a CBE in King Charles III’s New Year Honours List for his services to motorsport, adding another accolade to his trophy-filled 2023.

Horner has been at the helm of Red Bull’s F1 operation since their debut in 2005, leading them to 113 race wins, 264 podiums, six constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ titles so far.

He was previously appointed an Officer of the British Empire in 2013, following the team’s four successive double title-winning seasons, with the latest honour making him a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

In a press release, Red Bull, who won both championships in 2022 and 2023, stated that Horner’s CBE “again recognises his achievements in F1 and the wider motorsport industry”.

Commenting on the appointment, Horner said: “It was an unexpected distinction a decade ago to be presented with an OBE and to receive this second award, a CBE, is one for which I am hugely grateful and deeply honoured.

“It is a great privilege to lead and work alongside such a phenomenal team as Oracle Red Bull Racing and also to work in an industry that contributes so much to the United Kingdom’s economy.
